Lone Pine owns and operates three eucalyptus plantations, spanning over 60 hectares of land and growing 12 species of eucalyptus.
Koalas are the only animals at Lone Pine for which we cannot purchase their food from the store. As their diet is solely eucalyptus, there is also no alternate food source. This means we have to grow it ourselves.
365 days of the year, rain, hail or shine, our dedicated team cut half a tonne of leaf for our koalas, made up of three to four species to provide choice and variety.
In addition to our plantations, we are also lucky enough to have access to ten private properties, allowing us to harvest leaf from their land. This support from our community is priceless, especially in times of low rainfall and drought, to take the pressure off of our plantations.
