Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is open daily from 9am to 5pm, seven days a week.
Yes, we are open on all public holidays without any additional surcharges.
Yes, children under 3 are welcome to visit the sanctuary free of charge.
Your ticket provides access to the sanctuary from 9am to 5pm and includes all of our FREE captivating wildlife shows. Enjoy the colorful Wild Lorikeet Feeding, the breathtaking Free Flight Raptor Show, the lively Sheep Dog Show, and informative talks on koalas and dingoes. Yes, booking your tickets online allows you to save time by using the ‘Pre-Purchased’ ticket queue upon arrival. You can also pre-book experiences to secure your spot and avoid missing out on the day.
Absolutely! Lone Pine is an all-weather sanctuary with plenty of covered areas to keep you dry and comfortable, even during wet weather.
We have 3 cafés on-site:
- Riverside Café: Located just before the sanctuary entrance, open daily from 7:30am to 4pm.
- Sleepy Koala Café: Located inside the main sanctuary grounds, open daily from 9am to 2pm.
Please note that the Sleepy Koala Café kitchen closes at 2pm, but a selection of cold sandwiches and hot/cold drinks are available until 3pm. - Butterfly Café: Located inside the main sanctuary grounds, open daily from 9:45am – 3pm.
Yes, you can book an experience when you arrive at the sanctuary. However, we highly recommend pre-booking your experiences online to ensure availability, as they are limited and often sell out quickly. This helps avoid any disappointment on the day.
Yes, we accept student, senior, and pensioner cards, which can be used to receive a discounted entry price to the sanctuary.
Yes, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary offers free entry for carers with a valid Companion Card. Simply show your Companion Card to our ticket entrance staff upon arrival. No pre-booking is required.
Yes, we offer a 10% discount on Day Passes for APOD (Australian Partners of Defence) members. For more information or to become a member, please visit the APOD website.Â

Lone Pine is located at 708 Jesmond Road, Fig Tree Pocket, just 12km from Brisbane CBD. You can get here by self-driving, public bus, or the scenic Mirimar River Cruise. For more information, please refer to our Getting Here page.
Yes, we offer free parking on-site, including designated accessible parking spaces, coach parking, and a convenient drop-off zone.
Yes, we have 2 x onsite electric vehicle charging stations located in our car park.Â
At Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, we take accessibility seriously and are continually seeking ways to enhance our facilities and services. While our sanctuary is set on naturally hilly terrain, we offer alternate routes to accommodate guests with limited mobility. However, please be aware that some areas, such as the kangaroo reserves and unpaved paths, may not be suitable for unassisted wheelchair access. Yes, you can hire a stroller or wheelchair during your visit. Stroller hire is available for $6, and wheelchair hire is also $6. To ensure availability, especially for wheelchairs, we recommend calling ahead to reserve one before your visit.
No, scooters, skateboards, bicycles, roller blades, skates, or motorised vehicles (except for motorised wheelchairs) are not permitted inside the sanctuary grounds.
Yes, certified guide, hearing, or assistance animals with the appropriate identification are welcome in the public areas of Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, including the Riverside Café and outdoor areas, without prior arrangements.
For access to the paid sanctuary grounds, bookings are essential. To ensure the safety of both our wildlife and your assistance animal, please call (+61) 7 3378 1366 or email [email protected] to make the necessary pre-arrangements. Visits within the sanctuary will be guided by a Lone Pine team member and are limited to a maximum duration of 2 hours. Please remember to bring the appropriate ID for your assistance animal.
Yes, we have baby changing facilities available in toilets both outside and inside the sanctuary. Additionally, we offer a parents’ room inside the sanctuary equipped with amenities such as a breastfeeding area, and a microwave.
Yes, we complimentary Wi-Fi at the sanctuary.
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and drink into the sanctuary. However, please note that glassware and alcohol are not permitted to be brought into or consumed within the sanctuary grounds.
No, smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes, is strictly prohibited within the sanctuary grounds. However, we do have a designated smoking area located outside the sanctuary (past the bus stop in the car park). If you wish to access the smoking area during your visit, you can get a stamp when leaving the sanctuary, which will allow you to return without paying the entrance fee again.
We do our best to reunite lost items with their owners. If you’ve lost something during your visit, please contact our service team as soon as possible on (+61) 7 3378 1366 or via email at [email protected]. Our team will assist you in checking our lost property and help recover your belongings if possible.
Yes, we have onsite First Aid officers and AEDs for emergencies.
We have staff members who are First Aid certified and can assist in emergencies. The sanctuary is also located near medical centers and hospitals for further care.
