What days / hours is the sanctuary open to the public?
We are open from the hours of 9am to 5pm daily, 7 days a week.
Are you open on Public Holidays?
We are open on public holidays and do not impose a surcharge.
What happens if it’s raining, is the sanctuary still open?
Yes, we are an all-weather sanctuary, with plenty of undercover areas to allow for wet weather.
Covid-19 Information and Requirements?
Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary adhere to all Queensland Government Public Health directions.
As of the 14 April 2022 the need to check-in to our venue and be fully vaccinated no longer applies.
For the health and safety of your guests and staff, we advise if you are feeling unwell to not visit the sanctuary.
I’ve noticed that tickets for children start from the age of 3, can children under 3 enter the sanctuary, and what is the price for them?
Yes, children under 3 can absolutely visit the sanctuary, free of charge.
What hours are the cafes in the sanctuary open from?
We have two cafes, Riverside Café that is located just before the entrance into the sanctuary and is open 7:30am – 4pm daily (including public holidays) and Sleepy Koala Café, that is located inside the main sanctuary grounds and is open 10am-2pm Monday to Sunday.
Are you able to book a koala hold outside of the listed hours of either 11am-12:30pm and 2-3:30pm?
Unfortunately not as we have other events and experiences taking place outside of these times.
Are there any benefits of booking my tickets online, rather than when I arrive at the park?
Yes, by booking online you’ll save yourself time when you arrive by accessing the sanctuary via the ‘Pre-Purchased’ ticket queue. You can also pre-book your experiences, to ensure that you don’t miss out on the day.
If I want to book an experience, do I have to pre-book, or can I book it when I arrive at the park?
To avoid disappointment, it’s definitely best to pre-book online, as our experiences have limited availability and do sell-out fast.
