Important visitor update

Reopening Thursday 19 November

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary will be temporarily closed on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 November 2026 to allow for essential electrical infrastructure maintenance and upgrades.

These important works will help support the Sanctuary's ongoing operations and require a complete power shutdown across both days. While the works are taking place at Lone Pine, the dates are determined by Energex, meaning we are unable to reschedule the closure.

The entire Sanctuary will be closed to the public during this time. Our dedicated animal care teams will continue looking after all animals throughout the closure.

We understand this may be disappointing for anyone planning to visit during this time, particularly those travelling to Brisbane for a limited period. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these necessary improvements.

The Sanctuary will reopen as usual on Thursday 19 November 2026. We look forward to welcoming you back!
