Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is nestled in the scenic suburb of Fig Tree Pocket, just 12km from Brisbane's CBD. Surrounded by nature, it offers a peaceful escape from the city and the perfect destination for wildlife lovers of all ages.

Opening Hours

Open every day, 9:00am to 5:00pm. Last entry is 4:00pm to give you enough time to explore. Our wildlife experiences, cafés and gift shop are open throughout the day, and we recommend arriving early to make the most of your visit.

Transport Options

However you choose to arrive, Lone Pine is easy to reach from across Brisbane. Drive and park on site, hop on a bus or catch a taxi, or make the journey part of the day with a scenic cruise along the Brisbane River.

Driving & parking

We offer free car parking on site for all visitors. Simply enter the sanctuary via the main gate, where you will find convenient parking available all day.

Public bus

Lone Pine is easily reached via Brisbane City Council buses:

  • Route 430 — departs Ann Street
  • Route 445 — departs Wickham Terrace

Cruise the Brisbane River

Make the journey part of the adventure. Enjoy a 75 minute scenic cruise along the Brisbane River with Koala & River Cruises, operating seven days a week, subject to availability.

  • 9:00am Depart Brisbane, Cultural Centre Pontoon
  • 10:15am Arrive Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
  • 1:30pm Depart Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
  • 2:45pm Arrive Brisbane, Cultural Centre Pontoon

Please note CityCat ferries do not travel to Lone Pine.
